Better for 9-11 y/o: My 12 y/o loves fantasy, sci-fi, adventure and more. I don't know if this book sounded too Disney-esque or what. He reads daily, but this book just didn't hold his attention. That rarely happens.
The back of the book really does make one think of the many similarties with the movie "Brother Bear"

This series "HOOKED" my 10-year-old as a reader!: I stumbled on this book without realizing it was a series. My 10-year-old son enjoyed it so much that I was thrilled to discover there were three more in the series and purchased them for him from Amazon for his birthday in August. Fast-paced adventure: I picked up this book looking for a quick read and was drawn in from chapter 1. I couldn't put the book down. There is non-stop action - no boring fillers - no unnecessary writing (where you skim through a paragraph looking for anything important, but don't really read).
