- For the kid who thinks reading in boring
- These books will get even the toughest of kids interested in reading! They are the perfect blend of reading, cartoons and comedy! They are a fantastic starter series that will keep even adults entertained. These books are hilarious! The part that kids really love is, in every book there is a "flip book" fight scene. This means that there are 15 or so pages of cartoons that when you thumb the pages quickly, it looks like a live cartoon. The pages really seem to come to life and the kids can't wait to get to those pages!

- Wish there were more
- Although they might seem geared toward boys, my 7 year-old daughter tore through these books. To her, they're laugh-out-loud funny. A good choice for reluctant or developing readers. The biggest problem is the author ended the series a bit earlier. The back of the books list two new books "coming soon" but that was 3 years ago and his web-site doesn't list them.

- More wholesome than Capt Underpants
- We love Dave Pilkey - and this is a kinder and gentler series of book compared to Capt. Underpants. If Capt Underpants was just a bit too "potty humor" for you, or the reading level was a tad above your child - then Ricky Ricotta is right up your alley. The stories are not so "potty" oriented, and thus a bit more wholesome. The word selection is a bit easier and the chapters a bit shorter than Capt Underpants, so it is a good choice for the early chapter book reader. The stories are not exactly fascinating to me, but they are funny enough, and with enough "action" to keep the interest of my 7 year old son. I think this is most appropriate for 1st-2nd grade. The next step up in difficulty would be Capt. Underpants.

- Mighty Robot Collection
- My 7yr old son borrowed the first book in this series from the school library and it was the first book he had borrowed that he read all of it and loved it. So I then wanted to hunt them down for him as he is not an avid reader and these books really grabbed his attention. I highly recommend them for any young reader who can just read chapter books as this will boost there reading and interest. Also Amazon came through again with being the only carrier of the whole set at such an amazing price. Thanks.Ricky Ricotta's Mighty Robot Adventures

- My 8-year old son loved them
- I bought this set for my 8-year old son. I believe they were a little too easy to read for him because he finished all four in two days (just reading at bedtime). He must have enjoyed them because I would hear him laughing while he was reading.
