- Too much Food, Not enough exercise.
- I was searching for a exercise guide & log with maybe some nutritional information. It was less about recording your exercises, charting your progress and more about writing down every piece of food that went in your mouth.
If your searching for a diet log then this is the one for you. But if you were hoping for a straight forward guide to record your exercises and chart your progress day-by-day, week-by-week for six months then buy Suzanne Schlosberg's "The Ultimate Workout Log".

- Finally, a good food journal!
- Finally, a good food journal! The last food journal I bought (The Corinne T. Netzer Dieter's Diary) was totally useless. The DietMinder is wonderful! It has 3 months worth of pages to keep track of your daily food intake, calories, carbohydrates, fat grams, protein, fiber, water, vitamins, herbal supplements, medications, and exercise. It has pages for a "before and after" photo of yourself and for your "personal goals". Pages in the back to list your favorite foods and their food values. Also has pages to chart your weight, measurements, blood pressure, and cholesterol level. It has a pink cover (not blue/green like in the photo). I thought I'd mention that because I didn't expect it to be pink.

- Wonderful
- I am so glad that someone thought of the idea of putting this journal together. I was very happy since I was counting fat grams, fiber and starting to track calories. The journal I had found would either let you track one or the other. I was put on high blood pressure medicine and was told if I lost the weight I could come off. A dear of mine told me about this journal. She said I have found journal that we both had been looking for. She stated that it would let us track what we had talked about. At the time the one we had did not let you track your water, but we both now had the newer version and it is great. On my next visit to the doctor I took my journal with me. He love it!!! He said that he had not seen anything like this and to continue to use this journal.
I have one recommendation. I would combine the Health Journal and the Diet Minder together. The reason I say that for those of us who may have health issues that we are dealing with and are told to keep track on a daily or weekly basis. That will give us everything we would need in one. We would not have to take 2 separate books with us when we go out or to the doctor.

- The Most Important Dieting Tool Out There
- I became aware of the importance of recording what I eat while partaking in a "Rapid Results" program at my local gym (with a personal trainer). I was given a small pocket-sized food log, in which I recorded what I ate and when. This really forced me to take a look at my eating habits, and change them for the better. However, with the small food log I was using, I couldn't record other useful information, such as fat grams, protein, carbs and fiber. So after I filled up that food log, I purchased the Diet Minder's Food and Fitness Journal.
This book contains everything you would want in a food journal and more. First, there are sections in the beginning in which you describe your current physical condition and your goals (there are even places for you to put "before" and "after" pics. Then, on the pages where you record your daily records, there are sections to record calories consumed (as well as fat, carbs, protein and fiber), water consumed, snacks consumed, Vitamins/supplements/meds, physical activity, calories burned during physical activity, weight, and any notes you wish to add.
The Diet Minder's Food and Fitness Journal is perfect for anyone who wants to keep track of what they eat (or how much they exercise), especially if your on a "special" diet where you have to have a certain fat/protein/carbohydrate ratio. It is small enough to take anywhere, but large enough to comfortably record necessary information.
From personal experience I believe that recording food intake and exercise is extremely important when it comes to health and weight loss(of course there are also studies that prove this to be true!). Doing so motivates you to stay with your plan, and try harder to reach your goals. It also gives you a dose of reality when you have to record that piece of cake you had after dinner that just tacked on an extra 350 calories!
I highly recommend this journal to anyone who wants to lose weight and improve his or her health.

- I LOVE this food & fitness journal!
- I recently ordered the DietMinder journal, based in part on the good reviews here on Amazon.com, and I am truly impressed with it. I've read in many different sources (most recently, in Kirschenbaum's "Nine Truths about Weight Loss") that writing down your food and exercise greatly improves your chances for success. This journal is a great place to do just that, on a daily basis.
What I like most about this journal is that it can be easily adapted and used for whatever plan you choose, from counting calories, fat grams, and/or fiber to making incremental changes in your eating habits (the latter is my approach). The authors don't have a program or agenda to push, which is a refreshing change from most health/diet books.
I'm currently reading another new book entitled "The Power" by Sue Ellin Browder, who happens to go to my church. There's a section of her book that is aptly titled, "YOUR WEIGHT, YOUR WAY". That's how I think of this journal. I'm using it as a valuable tool to help me make healthy changes in my eating habits in the way that works best for me. A journal format works much better for me than miscellaneous pieces of paper which can get lost, and which don't show progress over time.
With this DietMinder, I'm now on track and excited about the future, as I continue to take steps in the direction of a healthier life!
