This MD Walkman lets you take your favorite music mixes wherever you go. Unique horizontal design with easy-to-access buttons makes the unit easier to use and hold in your hand or carry in a pocket, to enjoy the sound of MiniDiscs. Its Shock Resistant Memory resists bumps or vibrations while the laser scans ahead on the disc and stores 40 seconds of music in memory, for virtually skip-free playback. Battery Compartment Holds 2 "AA" Batteries so there is no need for an external battery case. This MiniDisc Walkman provides up to 15.5 Hours Playback with 2 "AA" Sony Alkaline Batteries that is delivered by advanced technology that allows extended battery life beyond previous limits.Digital Synchro Recording lets you make digital copies of CDs onto a MiniDisc with synchronized operation that begins recording when digital input signal is received. Sampling Rate Converter allows MiniDisc recording from other Digital media having different sampling frequencies, such as digital satellite systems and DAT, and automatically converts to MiniDisc rate. New smart remote control includes editing functions like titling and move. Digital Mega Bass Sound System provides rich, deep bass tones with digital signal processing for virtually inaudible harmonic distortion. High Quality Recording With Digital AGC ensures proper recording levels through Automatic Gain Control to prevent overload distortion. Automatic Volume Limiter System (AVLS) maintains volume output below strong signal levels, for listener comfort. Digital Connecting Cable is supplied for connecting to home digital preamplifier and to CD, DAT or digital satellite system units.
This minidisc player and recorder is built with a horizontal design and has easily accessible buttons. To counter the skip-prone movements of walking or running, the player has forty second shock resistant memory. THe remote control contains editing functions. The high quality recording features comes with AGC. To improve the sound quality, the MZ-R37 contains: the Digital Mega Bass sound system with three positions, automatic volume limiter system (AVLS), sample rate converter, and digital synchro recording. The package comes rechargeable ready, and runs on two AA batteries.

- This is a portable Mini-Disc player with the capability to record. The unit is very small, but also very sturdy. I believe the body of the unit is metal, not cheap plastic.
