Excellent flashlight
When I was a NYC police officer, many cops were getting these to carry on patrol. They are excellent flashlights, virtually indestructable, fairly small in size but very bright. I definitely recommend this flashlight for safety and convenience.

Adjusting beam
Got this flashlight (Mag Instrument Heavy Duty) for my husband. We looked at so many different stores only to find cheap plastic ones that really didn't have the lighting function he wanted. Found this one on Amazon and he loves it. It's heavy weight, has two beams, small one and a larger one for when you want more light. Battery use is great. He keeps it in the kitchen for quick finding. Sure glad I came to Amazon. They normally have what I'm looking for.

Handier than the D cell models unless you have large hands
Unless you want to spend hundreds on a flashlight (see Streamlight-primarily used by firemen) you cannot find a better unit than a Maglite. I have AAA, AA, C and D cell Maglte flashlights. Both my wife and I feel that the C cell size is easier to hold than the D cell model. I really prefer the 3 C cell model-I find the length just right, though the 2 cell model fits in cars better.
Made in the USA. And can be easily upgraded to a LED 'bulb'.
A little bonus: If you live in hurricane territory, when the stores run out of D cell batteries, there are always C cell batteries on the shelves, meaning you can get batteries when others can't.

Great Flashlight
Had a 4C Cell for about 10 years until I let a fellow guard use it and that was the last I have seen of it just about a year ago. Have a really nice rechargable flashlight at home but the end cap needle used to rechage it is broekn and this is the BEST flashlight replacement for it. Recieved it in a timely manner 3 days of ordering and just in time for the weekend work shift. Would highly recommend this flashlight as I do not know if I can order a new end cap for the rechargable, in which case it can still be used with regular batteries but not as bright as with the battery it comes with. These lights can take a beating and still work. My lost old one was scracthed and betan but worked when I needed it to. Buy this flashlight also for good self protection as a baton in most states is considered a deadly weapon and a maglight is not. But check your Local laws to make sure. Don't quote me on the legality of the use of a maglight for protection make sure and look for yourself!!

Bright light with perfect size and weight
We have two of these flashlights, and keep one in each car.
The size fits comfortably in the hand plus it's a little shorter than the 2 D cell Maglite. The weight is also a very nice feature, in that it you could hold it in one position much longer than you could a flashlight that might be just a few ounces more in weight(say a 2 or 3 D cell Maglite).
The beam of light it produces is very good for a 2 C cell battery powered flashlight. In fact the beam of light that it puts out isn't that far from the 2 D cell Maglite, and with the LED upgrade there shouldn't be any difference between it and a 2 D LED Maglite. But I'm just guessing here since they would both 3 watt LED flashlights.
Anyway it really is a great flashlight and believe that they'll out last me;)
