- CAT killer
- At first I laughed at this dumb little "power tool" my wife brought home but found it so versatile that I found things to sand. This is one of those tools that EVERY HOMEOWNER MUST HAVE. Bookcases, doors and I mean MANY doors, furniture tree house...on and on. I beat this poor little thing
After years of abuse mine finally died... I almost cried....just long enough to run out and get another. Have a mouse, have two !!
But make sure and get one with the case. Its major handy to store all your sand papers in it. - 2008-11-28, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- B&D Mouse Blowing Oil!
- I just bought the B&D Mouse sander for some detail work I am doing on walnut cases. I found after I started using it that it is blowing a fine mist of oil off of the bottom of the motor area - and staining the workpieces. I tried setting it in a small box and running it for about 45 minutes, only to find it still spraying out oil. Back to the store with this product. I'll buy higher quality instead.

- Save your money
- The Black & Decker mouse sander is a complete waste of money. A lot of "Flash & Thunder" but very little in the way of actual usefulness. It makes all the appropriate sounds and certainly feels like it's vibrating, but didn't perform very well at actually sanding someting.
If you want a sander to get in corners, give the Fein Multi-Master a shot. No, I have no connection to the Fein company in any way. - 2004-09-11, 9 of 11 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Really good - except
- I've had my mouse for about a year. For the most part, it's had very light use. Recently, I started using it more and it's had moderate use this summer.
It fits my hand nicely, is friendly in terms of ease of use but the hooks on the pad have worn down to nothing. The sandpaper simply won't stick. I'm pretty disappointed since I'm in the middle of two projects I'd like to finish up before the rainy season begins. And it's had light use.
I've tried to find a new "interchangeable pad" for the regular tear drop sandpaper but there don't seem to be any. So I'm faced with purchasing another mouse or trying something else. The motor seems fine so I'm reluctant to buy a whole tool when it just needs a $5 part.
Also, the Black and Decker sandpaper wears very quickly. Fortunately, there are other makes of hook and loop sandpaper and these have been much more satisfactory.

- Excellent for small jobs
- Lightweight and versatile little tool.
I concur with all the positive reviews here but must point out that B&D's supplied sandpaper is little use. You'll need a quality brand from Home Depot or the like. Makes short work of any small area. I'd recommend something larger is you do a lot of sanding but this is perfect for most home users.
