Great gift!: I bought this for my father in-law who loves civil war stuff. He told me to go ahead and renew it for a 2nd year. I LOVE THIS MAGAZINE!!!: I am 11 years old and I just started reading this magazine. Right from the beginnning I was captivated! America's Civil War goes into the not very well known details of the Civil War. I recommend this magazine for people who already have a really good sense of Civil War history, but those who don't will still love it.… More reviews

Poorly edited historical rubbish: Truth-be-told, I hated "HAVING" to give this magazine even one star, but that was the least I could do via this rating system. This magazine has some good writers but needs a new editor. Mr. Shoaf is very bad at his job, clearly, and seems to use and reuse the "buddy system" in using writers. Perhaps he gets a kickback? Magazine is interesting, the subscription was bogus.: I found the magazine to have interesting stories and history. The part I didn't care for was the way in which my subscription was sent. I received all of my years worth of issues in about three months. They sent me several back issues which was a little annoying.… More reviews
