Enigma - Love Sensuality Devotion: The Greatest Hits
![]() | Average Customer Rating: Recommend A greatest-hits package sampling four Enigma discs released between 1990 and 2000, LSD splendidly documents the influential output of Michael Cretu, a techno-bohemian who successfully creates cinematic, otherworldly New Age-like musical suites. Now, more than a decade removed from the arrival of Sadeness (Part 1) and its eyebrow-raising mix of sacred and sensual subplots, people can debate whether Cretu's music represents savvy commercial calculation or satisfying art. - the very best of Enigma
- this is the best compilation by Enigma, and probably the best lounge, or chill out music out there now (or what i personally call "sex music") besides the Buddha Bar albums. the tunes and songs are amazing to listen to for hours; i have compiled all the songs in one single continuous mp3 song and have it on my iphone everywhere i go. this cd should be in anyone's collection if you like this kind of music.

- Silence must be heard.
- "People talk too much for what they have to say, words without meaning... they are fading away."
And so, this is music at times invigorating, at times relaxing, but at all times captivating and thought provoking.
Good to dance to, drink and read to, make love to and eat to and meditate on. All around nice and very creative. Highly recommended. - 2008-10-12, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:

- If you ever liked Enigma, just order this one.
- Well, it's a CD full of music from Enigma as written by Michael Cretu. So, if you always hated his use of chant, or his wife talking over the sounds, don't buy it. But, if you have ever wondered what else Engima wrote other than popular tunes like Mea Culpa or Sadeness, this CD is full of truly wonderful music - especially lesser known cuts like TNT For The Brain, Modern Crusaders or Principles of Lust. Cretu mixes sounds like no one else and the result is almost completely mesmerizing and alive with his view of life. This one is probably one of my top 3 of all time and I'm a Boomer.

- painful
- I have long been a fan of Michael Cretu's breakaway music format and it is always a breath of fresh of air. It's always good to listen to Enigma when hit with the intensity of today's music scene.
The playlist is pretty much on par on what I would have expected from a compilation.
BUT! Where is "The Child In Us" (from their juggernaut 3:LE ROI EST MORT, VIVE LE ROI! album)? It is by far Enigma's most inspirational song. This album missed the boat 18 times to put this masterpiece of recording on the album. To me, "The Child In Us" in a nutshell represents what the Enigma project aimed to do. It may sound like I'm finding some way to nitpick, but that song *has* to be on the album for it to be "Greatest Hits".
My advice is to buy the digital download of this album and then buy the MP3 of "The Child In Us" And burn yourself a master CD of this compilation. Then it will truly be Enigma's "Greatest Hits". - 2008-03-16, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:
