- Unreliable
- Let me add my voice to those who think this is a wonderful light that often does not work. I have 3 of them and the two newest, the silver ones, will not turn on reliably. How this can continue in this product is beyond me. One person talks in a review about holding the light up to another light to get it started. I need to use mine when I wake up at night and my wife is asleep. The point is that I don't want a lot of lights on at that point. So last night, I wanted to read and the light wouldn't come on. Now, in the daylight, when I don't need it, it turns on. A very disappointing product.

- Disappointing product
- This light put out a nice, even light when it worked. It rarely worked reliably though. The other posters were very accurate when they said that the light would not come on immediately. Sometimes, it would take 5 mins or more before the fluorescent tube would light. I have had it for about a year now and although the light it produces is the best I have seen for reading in the dark, the light is also the most frustrating I have used. Really, it is the most expensive book light I have ever owned and also the least reliable. Now it will only light if I position it so that it does not shine on the page. Useless. Steer clear of this one and go for an led model.

- Book Light
- Excellent product. Very good price. Occasionally does not illuminate immediately. "The Itty Bitty Booklight" 3volt AC Adapter does not provide sufficient wattage. The book light requires a 5volt AC power source adapter, per the book light manual. Tried two adapters and had to return them.

- Slow to turn on sometimes (but here's our solution)
- Our family of readers has several of these, and we all absolutely love them except for one issue: if the set of batteries is anything but fully charged, it takes a long time (seconds, and sometimes minutes) for the light to turn on. Once it's on, the light is great.
We discovered a solution, which is to hold the unlit light up to another light -- the unlit light will instantly turn on. My wife and I will often "give each other a light" at night in bed when we're reading. Her light will be on, I'll click mine on, but instead of waiting for it to turn on I'll hold my light up to hers (or to another light source) and my light will instantly turn on. It works for us every time. - 2008-01-30, 2 of 2 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- starlight starbright.....
- Improve your nightlife dramatically with this wonderful book light. Well balanced as a book clip; expand your reading horizon perfectly on tabletop or floor for those pesky power outages. An extra wide light illuminates both pages for a typical sized hardcover. Two people pillow reading on the floor can easily use one light. But why not get one for every family member...the Phorm Voyager is awesome! We'll never read by flashlight again!
