Compatible with FoodSaver vacuum packaging systems that have an accessory port, this completer set is an economical way to ensure that both home-prepared specialties and store-bought foods don't spoil before their time. The assortment of storage options offered in this kit is enough to vacuum seal almost all perishable goods in the kitchen and extend the shelf life of foods. The package comes with 10 pint-sized and 10 quart-sized plastic storage bags for keeping everything from raw fish steaks to cooked asparagus fresh. The bags have channels that make air removal more efficient and a 5-ply construction that offers a better barrier against moisture and oxygen in either the refrigerator or freezer. The bags actually prevent freezer burn plus they are conveniently safe for boiling or the microwave to make reheating frozen home-cooked meals a cinch.

All of the following group of accessories work with the included hose, which connects the FoodSaver appliance to the storage container and removes all of the air. Two canisters — in 3/4 quart and 1-1/2 quart sizes — hold liquid items, such as soups or sauces, or keep dry goods, such as cookies or potato chips, crisp and crunchy. A 5-1/2-inch-diameter universal lid vacuum is thrown in to seal half-eaten containers of store-bought foods, such as coffee, tomato sauce, or soup, in their original glass jars or metal cans. In addition, a wide-mouth jar sealer preserves jams, sauces, or fruit in wider Mason jars and two bottle stoppers prevent spoilage in opened bottles of wine, oil, or vinegar.
