- Amazing...
- My house floorplan is extremely spunky. That also means that setting up my WiFi network was going to be extremely difficult.
Up until the point that I bought this antenna, I spent a total of $400 trying to get all my signal strength bars up to max, but rather, ended up getting mediocre connectivity, with occasional connection drops.
After installing the antenna, I get perfect signal, without the use of any repeaters in between. Hawkings is truly the best IMHO, especially when the quality of home/office networking gear is going to sh**. I just hope that the frequencies don't cause any long term health effects :) - 2007-03-08, 3 of 3 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Corner Antenna
- I have two hawking antennas the little dish one and the corner one. I think the corner antenna is for putting out the signal and not recieving the signal as what I'm using it for but it works well better than the dish antenna that is for recieving. I had to silicone it to make it water prof because I use it on my boat and have used it in the rain and it did get water in it. The dish is 8db and the conner one is 14db and yes I think it works twice as good.

- Long Distance Champ even outdoors
- I set up this antenna to connect two buildings together. For a strsight shot with clear line of sight I have max connection, even in weather. Distance 200 yards. In my home I receive and boost the signal with a dlink repeater.

- Works pretty well
- My house always seems to present problems to wifi routers, and I have tried a few different antennas. This one did increase the signal in a remote bedroom from "good" to "very good" (although not "excellent") on a consistent basis, and I consider that to be a success--and a better result than the other antennas I tried. I did have to fool around with the placement of this antenna to get the best results. For me, I got the best result laying the antenna down horizontally rather than orienting it vertically for some reason.

- 15db? I doubt it.
- Despite careful aiming, this has exactly, and I mean exactly, the same signal strength as my cheapie $6 Airlink 7db omni, and is weaker than my homemade Pirouline cantenna. Probably not a bad antenna if you can pick it up cheap, but save your money if you're expecting 15db performance.
