- Goods bits
- This is the second set of these bits I have purchased; the first set disappeared from a job site. After I got this set from Amazon, I saw similar/same set at Lowes for a few bucks less: I was surprised! But still a very good product.

- Not too impressed
- They were real good in the begining. Pilot point worked as advertised. But within a year, half are way too dull. A few are out of shape. The makita drills I had in a different combination set I bought were not as precise but they are still useful. My usage has been about 60% wood and 40% drywall/wood combination. May be it will do better for some one who uses for wood only. I am not a contractor but do use it quite often around the house.

- Great value
- Great set of drill bits for somebody doing misc. tasks around the house. I bought it to help hang pictures, hooks, etc and it has everything needed. Not sure you can get a better value at $20.

- OK general purpose bits
- I've been using these bits for general purpose construction of my house for the last 7 months. For drilling lumber they work well but are very aggressive (as another reviewer pointed out). You need to be very careful not to let the larger bits bite and start screwing into the work piece. Other than that, the pilot point seems to work as intended and really cuts down on bit walk.
I just recently tried to use the 1/2" bit to drill some 1/4" mild steel plate. After the first hole, the bit was dull and useless. I'm not sure if it was a factory defect or if the bits are just not intended for this type of work. One interesting observation is that the bits do not seem to get hot while drilling into metal. - 2007-10-29, 1 of 1 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Pilot point? Not sure where it would be useful.
- I was looking for a set of drill bits in the 5/8 - 1/2 inch category, and I happened to see this dewalt set at home depot. I got it thinking its dewalt, its got to be good. Well, maye Im using it for the wrong purpose, but when I drill holes in soft wood like pine, it rips up the wood at the top pretty bad. My old B&D twist drill bits do a cleaner job. Guess I should have done my research before buying this set.
