- great coffeemaker
- I really like this item. The coffee is hot and flavorful. The steel thermos is great: no scorching from a warmer, no risk of breakage. The flip style pouring mechanism is very convenient. The people who complain about this coffeemaker must have gotten a lemon (which, let's face it, can and will happen now and then in mass production). The built in water filter is a nice idea, however since my water is filtered anyhow I replaced it with the dummy.

- Very simple to use and clean. I only wish it was 12 cups -vs- 10.

- A Great Deal!
- After reading the reviews, I purchased this product with a bit of trepidation, and as usual, am glad I trusted my own instincts. First of all, for everyone who complained about this carafe not fitting into the dishwasher, read the instruction manual; it's NOT dishwasher safe - most thermal products are not as the washing cycle compromises the integrity of the design and can cause leaks. Secondly, and I don't have an engineering degree, the capacity is 10 cups. The water filter does cause the water level to be off by a small fraction as water does go down into the filter, so filling to the absolute top of the 10-cup water line, even with the filter blocker in place, will likely cause the carafe to over-flow by a VERY small amount - so a little adjustment is needed and this can be done duirng the intial water cycle. I ran my coffemaker through two tests without any overflow.
I preheated the carafe and had hot, steamy coffee for at least two hours; the brew was so tasty that it was gone before it had a chance to cool. This product is easy to use, has a nice design, is easy to clean and has positive eye appeal. More so there is no dripping from the carafe while pouring, and the lid design is VERY simple to use, unlike my old Black & Decker. In so far as reading the water level, I stood on my head, and upright; either way, it's a piece of cake to read.
My advice, if you're unable to read the owner's manual, don't buy this product. For all others, I highly recommend. - 2008-05-30, 5 of 5 people found this review helpful, Rated:
