can't get a prime: The directions seemed simple enough. Everything went smoothly until it was time to plug the unit in. That's when the trouble started. Oscar thing: The Rena Filstar XP3 is fantastic. My Fluval 404 died after four years and this is a perfect replacement. Made a mild, warm soapy solution for the hoses and connecters...........easily got the recommended two inch depth.… More reviews

Don't buy Company won't back it up.: Product damages floors and carpet. Leaks. Mars the company that makes this bad filter does not back up product. Look at a different filter. Trust me. More reviews

Good value but a big design flaw: The XP3 is a very good canister filter.
The good? 3 decent sized trays, "priming" intake tube, configurable outflow tubes, all-you-need-in-a-box package (with exception of biomedia).
The bad? The quick disconnect is not heavy duty and can be distorted by any tension on one of the tubes (especially the output)--resulting in a leak because the O-rings do not seat. Also,… More reviews
