Customer Reviews
Nikon SB-600 I'm not happy with the quality of design
I was using this since last October. Performance wise it is very good but one day I was trying to clean up my camera and trying to de-attach the mounted flash. I don't know what happened it never came out. I applied a little bit of force to de-attach the same from the camera but its shoe broke.

SB-600 Speedlight
I am a Nikonian amateur since film. I use an SB-800 Speedflash and bought the 600 for a gift. Wonderful Speedlights and service from Amazon. I plan on buying another SB-600 for my gear setup, as soon as it is updated, for background lighting. You can't go wrong with Nikon Speedlights or Amazon service.   More reviews
Get the nikon unit instead of a generic
On the hotshoe - it's a speedlight. It's bright. It meters well. I like using AA batteries. If you're only going to use this on the hotshoe, there's nothing special about it. But take off, and...
It's amazing. If your camera works as a CLS (creative lighting system) commander, you can set this flash up anywhere in the room and it will automatically fire…   More reviews
Excellent primary or secondary speedlight
As a longtime (30+ years) pro Nikon shooter, I've always relied on Nikon Speedlights to mate with my various Nikon cameras. I've never been disappointed with the excellent results.
The introduction of Nikon's iTTL (intelligent through-the-lens) flash system is a major step forward for flash photography. I've owned the SB-600 for more than a year and it's never…   More reviews
Best choice for most Nikon SLR owners
I purchased the SB-600 for my Nikon D5000. While the D5000 and other entry-level Nikon DSLRs (e.g., DX40/60/3000) do not have the built in Wireless Commander, I think the SB-600 is still a better investment than the SB-400 for entry/mid-level Nikon SLR users.
The SB-400 has a limited ISO 100 guide number of 21/68 (feet/meters) at the 18mm zoom…   More reviews
