- The brush is perfect for cast iron but the price of $5.99 was way too high, this item can be purchased at Wal-Mart for a mire $1.99, shame on you Amazon!!

- Absolutely necessary
- If you use cast iron cookware, you should buy several of these. They are the only thing that I've found that works well when trying to scrub this kind of cookware. I have a Lodge frying pan and a Lodge grill (the kind that goes over two burners). The frying pan will feel greasy until I go over with the brush. By the way, I was told not to use soap to clean my cast iron so, I use Kosher salt. Sprinkle it on, use a little water to make it pasty and scrub. The sticky bits of food and grease will come off with just a little scrubbing with this brush. This brush is even more essential to clean the grill pan to get into the grooves and ridges.

- A practical ,workable product..... with a twist.
- I have used this product for over month and it hasn`t fallen apart yet.After use , dry about the wood that holds the brush head and the metal ring that clasps it to the handle.Wood swells when wet and if left wet the devise ceases to function as designed.(the brush will fall off) When not being used on cast iron pans,this product is a great help in hard to get places;as a back scratcher, for instance.For $5.00, this a real bargain.

- Any brush would work
- The scrubber brush works just as any other scrubber would work... I like it and I use and I'd buy another one, but it's not necessary (unless you don't have some sort of scrub brush already). I don't know if these bristles are different than regular ones though. Also, the brush head came off of the wooden handle within 2-weeks. I just super-glued it back on and it has been fine since.

- dis-LODGED: attractive, but delicate
- I wanted a brush for my cast iron clean up that would remove the cooking residue, but not destroy the relatively fragile organic patina on my Lodge grill and skillets. This solution is a toss up.
I suppose if I had read any reviews prior to ordering, I wouldn't have made the purchase, but I'll still use it until I find something else better.
The wood and metal construction has a nice touch and feel. I'm a little tired of plastic from a aesthetic sense. That's partly why I prefer my cast iron over my Teflon cookware. And, the compatable color nylon bristles don't stain that dinghy grey like the white ones on my old plastic dish brush. Even bleach didn't help it. I threw it away and got a new one for the dishes. I put the Lodge in the dishwasher and it is good for more.
Obviously, the soft wood material is not as sturdy as say a more expensive hard wood or an all metal handle would be. I haven't experienced cracking of the bristle head, but, like everyone wrote and as in my case, after about six uses, the handle dis-LODGED from the legs of the wire ring securing the brush head. Finding a more secure method to attach the head to the handle is needed. I'd spend more for it. Like someone whispered to Kevin Costner: "Build it and they will come." Even though I was able to re-insert the prongs back into the little hole in the handle and continue cleaning, it's not the same. Intense scrubbing is not an option.
