- I bought this USB hub for an older (2005) iMac. It certainly solves the problems of dealing with multiple USB-powered peripherals. One issue I did notice was that when I had 5-6 plugs used, my computer had difficulty starting up... in fact, it didn't start up until I unplugged all but 1-2 devices.
