Inexpensive and well made but not very useful
These 2 attachments would better be termed "disposable quick releases" instead of a lanyard ring or clip. You will choose one or the other (not both at the same time) and 'install' it by pushing the outer quick-release lever and pressing the unit into the open slot you'll see on your Leatherman at the end where the quick-release sits. You will -not- be loosening the fastener at the other end and attaching it permanently... this thing is -meant- to pop off in a heartbeat and that's exactly what it will do if you ever trust it, as soon as something presses against the release lever! Vague excuses about it being meant to help the tool ride inside your pocket aside, I have to admit I just don't get it. A lanyard attachment point that can't be trusted is NOT a lanyard, but an invitation to loss. Anyway, the fit and finish of the two is up to the usual Leatherman standards, it doesn't cost much... but You Have Been Warned. The only rational use I can think of for this is if you chain the lanyard ring to your belt, then detach the Leatherman from it when you want to use it. It would be a quick and easy motion and the lanyard chain would supply some extra insurance... too bad once you install it you won't be able to fit it back in the sheath! So let's use the clip... oh wait, you can't use both at once! No, this package is NOT well thought out. I'm sure some will find it useful but for most folks, it's just a good way to lose your tool.

Get it for the Pocket Clip
This is a very good accessory for the new Wave multitool. I have not used the lanyard ring (I will just use the built in ring) but I like the pocket clip very much.
It is very easy to attach, and I have had no issues or concerns with the clip detaching unexpectedly.
I can keep the clip attached to the tool when I am using the leather sheath, but the clip is very handy when I do not want to carry the sheath.
This is a big improvement over having the tool floating around in my pocket.

Useful, but...
If you then to use the leatherman on its own, the quick release clip and ring are useful and works well. I put mine on a Surge.
However, once attached, it doesn't fit into the leather sheath that came with the leatherman. I find it rather troublesome to release the clip/ring everytime I want to keep the leatherman in its sheath.
