- Great cut, but not compatible with SawStop Cabinet Saw
- The Dial-a-width feature (shown as red circle on left blade in picture) adds approximately 7/16" of mass to the outside of the left dado blade. This additional width combined with a shorter arbor on the SawStop limited the usable dado width to 5/16". I was not able to use more than 2 of the 5 chippers due to the SawStop arbor design. I was not aware of the shorter dado until I called SawStop for advise and was told about it.
The first pass was clean and square, but adjusting the rip fence for two more cuts to make a 23/32" dado for plywood produced an uneven and acceptable dado grove.
I had to return the SD608 and will order the SD508 instead. Makes me wish I had kept my old Craftsman contractor saw for use with dado blades as it's arbor was significantly longer.

Update: Got the new SD508, watched the instructional DVD which specifically mentions how to change from the default right-tilt configuration to the SawStop's left-tilt configuration. Wish I had known that before sending the set back it would have probably worked just fine. Too bad neither Freud or SawStop's customer service folks mentioned this when I called, what a bummer. - 2008-01-19, 3 of 3 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Money well spent
- Super-easy to use. Makes shims a thing of the past. Freud makes excellent router bits and saw blades. If you're willing to pay the premium, Forrest is another fine company for blades. Not having to deal with shims was the biggest selling point for me, well worth the cost of admission.

- Accurate dados with the SD206
- The dados produced by the SD206 were accurate, clean and splinter free. I have a typical underpowered contractor's saw and the 6" SD206 cut 3/4"X1/2 deep dados in oak with little effort. The bottoms were clean and the sides were perfectly square and parallel. Great set for the price.

- excellent dado set!
- A 6" dado blade installed on a 10" direct drive table saw [Delta] is an excellent way to reduce motor stress. I usually never cut a dado deeper than 3/8"-1/2". The cut is flat and clean. I did have an eight inch dado set up and immediately noticed the advantage of the six inch blade.
I recommend this Freud SD206 dado saw product.

- Never got the blade, Timberline order cancelled
- Horrible CS. I have bought from amazon for years but Timberline made some excuse about a price error and it was the price for one chipper blade only, blamed it on amazon and would not honor the sale. Amazon would not do anything to help on 3rd party sales. Amazon is usually very good on honoring their own prices, even if it was an error and the order was placed with them. Not so with Timberline.
I have had good results with Freud blades and have sd508 and sd206 blades. Do not know personally about this set. - 2007-09-03, 2 of 4 people found this review helpful, Rated:
