Works as advertised
This is a good setup, overall. Tearout in CDX plywood and hardwood is minimal; I haven't yet cut dadoes with it in birch plywood or any other expensive veneered lumber so I can't rate it in that area yet. It doesn't make glass-smooth bottoms in dadoes, but neither does it cost what a Forrest stacked dado head cutter does!

A great deal for the money, especially for smaller saws
After finally giving up on my inexpensive Craftsman dado set, which burned more wood than it cut and had more gum on it than blade, I went looking for something that would make dadoes that (gasp) were actually flat on the bottom, at a price I could afford, and that would work on my smaller saw, a Ryobi BT3000. This Freud set filled the bill nicely. It cuts a nice flat-bottomed dado, is highly adjustable with the included set of shims (though there's little way to tell which shim is which) and has been resistant to gumming up. The triple-angle rake on the outside blades has been great for sharp, flat sides to my cuts. This is not the ultimate dado set; with few teeth and a negative chipper angle, it tends to get pretty hot and slow cutting a 3/4" wide, 1/4" deep slot in hardwood. Multiple passes may be in order. However, the size and price and cut quality were all I was looking for, and I'm completely satisfied. Unless you have a bigger saw or require faster production, this is probably all the dado you'll ever need.

A perfect match for my Jet contractor table saw
This was a pre-christmas gift for myself. I purchased
the SD206 6" Freud Professional Dado blades, and the
JET DI-10 / 708102 8" Dado Insert for Right Tilt Saw.

Together these work great together. While I've not
gone all out and used the blades extensively. I have
played around and made a number of cuts with them.

The dado's are clean, flat along the bottom (unlike
with a wobble dado set).

I'm not a full-time woodworking. I just like to play
around with my pwoer tools in the garage. These products
were perfect for me. Low in cost, and high in results.

For a beginner or starter set. I don't see how you can
go wrong with this items. Plus the carrying case for
the dado blades is quite handy.

Much better than my previous dado
My previous blade was an old craftsman 6" dado. Not that i have anything against craftsman (my table saw is great), but these things were so old and worn that they burned the wood away instead of cutting it. This influenced me to get a new set. I am glad i did. With this set, the saw dosen't even bog down in going through the wood. Wonderful to be able to cut something without buring it. Cuts an *almost* flat-bottomed dado. I have only done cuts about 3/8 wide max, and it seems that the chippers leave a *slight* raised area at the middle. I am not sure if this happens with larger sizes. The carbide teeth on the chippers are nice and large, which makes me happy. Now, if it can only help me think straight and not make four left legs instead of two left and two right. Oh well. I'll have to practice more.

Flat bottoms and square edges!
I purchased this dado blade on the advice of some friends ... whom use it. My first reaction was, I NEED to enlarge the directions!! The instructions are printed in a very fine point font which, makes them very hard to read. So, I went down to my local kinkos and printed out a 50% enlargement(Now 11 x 17"....Problem solved.)(I also laminated the directions so that I could mount them on my shop wall)

My first cut with the dado set was through some laminated MDO for a miter track, which is being used as a fence extension on my table saw. I wasn't able to make the required dado in one pass to the size constraints of my saw(13/16"max width) so, I made several smaller passes. To my amazement, the dado was flat bottomed and the edges perfectly square. I can see now why so many folks at my woodworking forum are using, and recommending this blade. It's an excellent choice!!

I don't believe you're going to find a better blade out there in this price range. Well worth the money!!
