- great value and...well just read the review
- if you are like me and not ready to spend [money]on a dado set, look no further. this baby performs. i chose the 6" for my 10" delta contractors saw. i believe this is wise to compensate for the lower horsepower of my saw. a smaller blade will have more rpm's than an 8" or 10". its physics. anyway, i like the case to keep it all organized and it comes with a handy guide that tells you what chippers and shims to use for certain cuts. quite handy for undersized plywood. big carbide tips that look like they will stand up to several sharpenings.
so why did i only give it 4 stars? someone at freud just got off break on friday just before quitting time and shorted me an 1/8" chipper. Quality control cost ya a star Freud. - 2002-11-16, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- It Does What It Says...
- I bought the Freud SD206 6" Professional Dado set so I might be able to make clean, square dados and to produce clean tenons. This product has worked superbly thusfar and I suspect that it will continue to do so in future buildings. I don't think I'll have to make dados so deep that I'd need the 8" set so why not save the [money]? It certainly has made my work easier and more precise. I highly recommend this product to anyone who might be tired of setting up a straight bit in a router and a fence clamped to their work. Use your table saw and leave the fancy cutting to the router.

- Very sharp grooves
- I just bought this dado set and used it to mill about 15 1/2" dados in red oak. At first I had to check to make sure I was cutting. This set is almost as smooth as my Forrest WWII! The dados were very sharp with perfectly flat bottoms. No shims were required. Although a lot of money, I think it is well worth it. Better to buy a great product once than a poor one first.
My only complaint is that the shims are not coded in any way. Would be nice to see some color coding for thickness. If not for that, this product would get 5 stars.

- WOW!! It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!
- I've tried several different Craftsman DADOs, and have been using a borrowed Amana DADO ....These all cost as much or more than the Freud, and the SD206 puts them all to shame! It cuts *flawless*, *chip-free* DADOs, even cross-cutting in hardwood veneer plywood! For the money, it is an incredible buy! How it does this with only 10 teeth on the outer blades is beyond me, but I won't question success. Mine came with a plastic "carrier", not the nice padded case shown in the picture (which I would have preferred), but other than that, I could not be more satisfied.

- a quality product
- A case of "getting what you pay for"... and this a very good product. Functional, sharp, well-made, and comes with a decent case. No regrets in buying this.
