- Tfhis is the 3rd Food Saver we have purchased. We have used the
Food saver for most anything you can think of with amazing results for preserving especialy cheese. Keeps for months and prevents freezer burn on otherf items.
I know we have saved thousand of dollars on left over foods and preserving other items.

- Food Saver Pro
- We just reordered a FoodSaver Pro as the heating element of the one we have been using burned out. Our FoodSaver Pro has been used heavily for the last 6 years, and it has been wonderful. It is a bit pricey, but our savings paid for the unit early on and the savings continued over the years.

- New and Improved
- I had one of these when they first came out, late 80's maybe. I used it until it wore out, and by that time ziplock bags had so improved I felt I didn't need to go to the expense of replacing it. Still, when it is properly used it is a much better way of getting an air-tight seal, and then there is sous-vide cooking and other interesting ways of using it, so I decided to try it again. Overall this is a sleeker design with better features, and ordering supplies online is convenient and a money-saver. I have not had it long enough to really get creative, but it functions even better than I remember. The video is an excellent way for newbies to learn its quirks. Don't miss it. 4 stars? I still wish it were a bit less fussy about thing like dampness and creases, but it is definitely better than it was.
BTW the first one I received was defective. I called the company and they said return it to Amazon. I did, but even before the bad one had been picked up by Amazon, a new one arrived on my doorstep - the very next day! - This is by far, the best foodsaver unit out there. I have had different models in the past, this is the best. Easy use, seals great. Highly recommend.

- THE BEST!!!!
- This is our second FoodSaver. We had used and used and used the Pro II but it no longer cut the bags and sometimes didn't vacuum correctly. I can't live without one so I broke down and got the newest model. Love It!!! I use it constantly. I put store bought frozen bags of veggies in a FoodSaver bag and vacuum seal them. No more freezer burn. My husband's mom sends traditional food from Puerto Rico. It comes frozen and I portion it into the FoodSaver bags and it is good for a year or more. I break up the packs lunch meat and seal small portions for future use. Freeze it and take out only what I need for a day or two. No more worry about wasting or making my daughter sick with spoiled food. Cook meals ahead and save till.... No freezer burn. The only time you have freezer burn is when you forget to use the FoodSaver. Also great for saving wine. I hate to open a good bottle and only have one or two glasses. It is ruined if left in the fridge open but not with the FoodSaver and the corks. They really work and wine taste fresh a week later. We reseal all of our chip bags or any other plastic bags. Love the product and they don't pay me to say that.
