The next best thing to an in-house sommelier, this professional-quality wine opener offers the same impressive performance and stylish design as corkscrews that cost far more. The entire process requires minimal effort, and best of all, there are never bits of mangled cork floating around in the bottle afterwards. - Not durable - avoid
- Purchased 2 of these, one for me, one as a gift in Dec. 2007. Initially worked great, but both broke within 6 months after what I'd consider light to moderate use (one to three bottles opened per week). Pick a different one. More reviews
- I'll read the reviews more carefully in the future
- Like others I bought this item only to have it fail after 2 months. For the first month, it worked well hence the two star review. Since there is no path to repair (deliberately I suspect), I'll buy a different brand from some other source. More reviews
- Worked Well For A While
- I owned the thing for about 2 years, during which it worked as advertised. Was actually very pleased with it until, all of a sudden, it stopped lifting the cork out of the bottle. Instead of lifting the cork out, the plunger just unscrewed, leaving the cork in the bottle. Examination revealed that a small plastic part had broken, rendering the product More reviews
- Great opener
- I bought this January 2006, and it's still going strong. We got one in 2003, and it broke for some reason, I can't remember, so I replaced it with this one. It's so easy, it opens and removes the cork in 2 motions that take 3 seconds. Like the one star review, I too have an engineering degree. I'm not sure how that pertains to reviewing More reviews
- easiest corkscrew ever
- I've struggled with several other lever type corkscrews, and forget the bartender's friend (no friend of mine)! This corkscrew works well and is easy to use. I've had mine for a year and still haven't needed to use the spare screw. I'm buying another one for our wine club so I can no longer fight the myriad of corkscrews More reviews
