- It took a while for the birds to discover this, but once they did -- they are almost non-stop at the feeder. They are going through a whole cake in less than 2 days. I am supplementing with whole grain bread now (which they completely disdain), and a second feeder for seed food. Both are right outside a window where my kitty stays for hours watching the birds.
Truth in advertising. The product doesn't melt and it is easy to handle. Rip open the package and drop it into the feeder using the bag that it came in. No mess, no fuss. Very happy with it. - 2008-07-21, 1 of 1 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- I love these cakes!
- Made a little differently than the store-bought cakes, they aren't shrink wrapped and don't come in the messy plastic tray you have to squeeze them out of. Instead, just open the top of the package, position over your suet feeder, give a slight squeeze and they pop right out of the wrapper into the feeder. No touching the suet, no mess, and the birds love it too!
