- A Great $500 Robot. Too Bad it's $1500.
- Easily the most sophisticated of the 4 robot vaccum cleaners on the market. We've tried 3. The self docking function is great. Roomba promises on this front but rarely delivers. The self-cleaning is fantastic. But overall it does not clean any better than the Roomba -- in fact it's less powerful. Hard to believe given the price difference.
A well-engineered robot with a lot of great features. But at this price point it is somewhat disappointing. It's 25% better. Not 300% better.
4 Stars for the Product. Minus 1 for performance/value.
Not to all first time robot buyers -- these products are fairly tempermental. I never buy exntended warranties but with moving/cleaning/robot products, it's a wise invesment. That holds true for Roomba's or this product. - 2006-05-20, 5 of 5 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- By far the best Robot Vacuum
- I've owned one of these for over 2 years and I've got nothing but good things to say about it. It cleans effectively and efficiently any dry surface (it won't clean up wet areas or sticky things like mud until it dries) and, in my opinion, what makes it superior to the other robotic cleaners on the market, is that the base is a full fledged vacuum cleaner with dust bag. This mean, that as opposed to the roombas you're not continually emptying a dust cup, I've had this machine going nonstop for over 2 weeks at a time before I have to change the dust bag which makes this cleaner painless to use.
The only 'con' I have is that the only way to set barriers for this unit is to put an obstacle that it can't shift in its way. There are no options for IR doorway stops similar to other robotic units. - 2006-04-21, 5 of 5 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- So neat
- My parents have one of these for their house, and I'm trying to get them to buy me one as a housewarming present when I move next month. It's fabulous because it runs around constantly and returns to its home base to recharge and to empty out the dirt, and it knows how and when to go home when it needs to, so you don't have to keep track of it. It's not very powerful, but since it runs over the floor over and over all day long it keeps the floors very clean. there's just a couple of problems: first is that the toilet is not this robot's friend, because it will get trapped behind there and you probably won't notice for hours or maybe days. So you have to keep those doors closed. also, as we've always had to do with our vacuums, sometimes we have to perform surgery on the robot to remove the hair that gets caught in the brush. This is still the greatest invention for people who don't like to vacuum, and after a while you get to think of it as a pet, like a cat. It's kind of creepy, actually.
