can't get right product
I'm so frustrated! I ordered this once from Amazon and received the wrong model (a $20 less expensive model) and got a refund. I ordered from another seller and received the correct model - but it was clearly marked "DISPLAY KIT" (even included a memo to the Department manger saying what to do with it) - contacted the seller, said should have never happened - returned it and received a SECOND one marked DISPLAY KIT! Ready to give up completely!!! Just want the model I ordered and in brand new condition! But how can I trust that Drill Spot will send me one that isn't a display model???

bags are not consistant
I had a problem with the sealing strip wearing out and burning the bags on my first vacuum sealer. The company replaced the item even though the guarantee had run out several months earlier. But I don't use the item often anymore. The vacuum seal works fine on canning jars but the heavy freezer bags tend to seperate while in the freezer allowing air to get to the food causing burns. I find that using 'Ziploc' types of freezer bags and sucking the air out with a straw works just as well.

Vacuum sealing? I'm not so sure
Have used this product fairly extensively for over a year. The sealing process is quite easy; contrary to comments of others, it doesn't require any special strength to close the lid for sealing. However, I've had real problems getting the vacuum function to work correctly. It seems tough to position right, and even when I do I don't get the impression that much air is being removed from the bag. Perhaps this is deceptive (note that the bags are pretty stiff, so they tend to hold their shape).
Most recently I've given up and just try to seal the bags as tightly as I can. This too is problematic because the seal does not seem very even - more like a perforation than a tight seal. I'm sure part of this is that the heating element needs to be replaced (but it didn't last very long in its original condition).
Overall, the stuff you freeze definitely holds up better than if you just loosely wrapped it. But it doesn't compare to products that you buy with a professional vacuum seal. I am looking into other options.

Not Purchased
Seller informed me prior to shipping that there were missing parts which could not be replaced. Declined to purchase & money was refunded.

Works fine - glad I have one
I bought a less expensive model (w/o the extra space for roll storage) but mine functions just like this one. I have used it for about 2 months and it is working very well. Yes, that little nozzle gizmo on the sealer requires a few extra seconds sometimes, but for the most part it doesn't give me any trouble. Here are a few tips for successful use of ANY type of vacuum sealer:
1. Press down FIRMLY to lock the lid. Once it's locked (on both sides), you shouldn't need to keep holding it down.
2. Do NOT store it in a locked position, You'll wear down the gaskets.
3. Freeze delicate, spongy foods such as bread, cake, berries, etc. before vacuum sealing, otherwise the vacuum pressure will squish them. You can also stop the vacuum process early, but I prefer to freeze these items first so I can 'go the distance' on the vacuuming.
4. Freeze liquids and solid/liquid combinations (soups, meat cooked with sauce, etc.) before sealing. The sealer's moisture reservoir can only handle so much liquid. Too much liquid will overflow into the vacuum pump and ruin the machine.
5. If you want to economize you can wash and re-use the bags. They work just as well the second (and even third) time around.
