- Great for starters, tricky set up, tons of fun!
- I decided I wanted to do my own mixes and take on a DJ hobie. I didn't want to have a lot of equipment or turn tables, and I thought it was cool when I saw laptop DJ's at a club or party. So after some research, I bought this little thing, not cheap, but not as expesive as other mixers, I now mix songs from my iTunes library, it's a blast! I didn't like the "Virtual DJ" software that comes with it. It is super easy, but a bit imature. I wanted more options so I got Tracktor 3 and that was a huge difference! although setting up the Hercules controler with the Tracktor software took some time and it was tricky, tech support emails back and forth, different versions of drivers and MIDI files. But I finally got it to work. And it is a pleasure to be able to take the party with me anywhere with just a back pack with the controller and my laptop. Get to a friends house, hook up with their speakers and we are jammin.
Only thing now is that I feel as though I have outgrown the product faster than I though. It would be nice if it had more buttons/knobs to apply different effects available with the Traktor software, but I can use my mouse pad to do that. For the price, portable size, and quality I give it a 5 star, however, I take one away for the software and its tricky drivers. Worth buying if you want to jump into the mixing world. - 2008-05-14, 2 of 2 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Amazing
- the Hercules MK2 was just what i was looking for. I like the features that it came with. previewing the songs was easy and fun and a HUGE help. the only bad thing about it was the jog wheels are too sensitve the slightest touch would activate them but besides that it was a good buy. the cross fader was smooth making mixing an easy and fun job.

- Fun
- This product is a lot of fun. I am not a real dj, but I love music and this product does everything that I need it to do. The ability to blend, manipulate, and record your music is awsome.

- Hercules DJ Console MK 2
- My rating falls low on this item for a reason. The marketing and hype for this item is just that, "marketing and hype". When I ordered this item, I did so, partially based on supposed user quality feedback. I do not care how long you have been a DJ, this item does not perform as stated. It is very small, not as you would believe from the photos as presented by the seller. Not only is it small and hard to use because of the size, it does not mix even close to a partial thought of decent. I have been a DJ for over 15 years and can match beats flawlessly. I have never had an issue with my DJ skills. If you are new to DJing and want my truthful advice, Get the real deal and do not waste your money on this piece of something or other. Basically, I wasted $229.99, plus shipping, for something that I now regret purchasing, will never use, and I would feel bad trying to pawn it off on someone else because that is what I feel happened to me. This sucks!

- Great bedroom DJ tool
- I bought this to use with my Traktor 3, so I coudn't care less about the bundled software.
The unit is great, fully customizable.
You can even use it with an external mixer, disable the unit's EQ and turn them into XONE:92 effect knobs.
The downsides:
- ASIO support is weak. Latency is around 25 in my Core-Duo 1GB RAM Laptop.
- Scratching is non-existant, even on the Virtual DJ (HDJConsole software).
Enjoy! - 2007-01-08, 3 of 3 people found this review helpful, Rated:
