- This axe was a great purchase. I had needed a splitting axe or maul and tried the weights of different brands. I didn't try out the others personally (in real splitting action) other than swinging, so I can't compare results, but I really do like the Fiskars. Feels good in the hands and does a great job at splitting. I would buy another if needed. More reviews
