Great saw for the price.
I have had my saw for 7 months. Construction wise, the saws feels and operates great except I have had the brake not catch on occassion. The only other complaint is that the box that contains the laser is open in the back and can collect sawdust. After vacuuming it out, I shoved a piece of soft foam back there to keep the dust out. I did have to spend some time calibrating my saw when I received, but I haven't had to touch it since. I only use the included 24 tooth blade for cutting stuff I am not too critical with. Otherwise I use a 60 tooth Freud Industrial blade that makes this saw (and others) really come alive. I bought this saw with the very nice blade and still spent slightly less than single bevel namebrand saws.
I am not a heavy user, but I have other nice power tools and I can recognize build quality. I believe the brake on my saw will fail eventually and the two screws that hold the blade cover in place are not very hight quality steel. Other than that, the motor seems plenty strong and the action and adjustments of this saw are smooth and easy to use.

Good value for the money
I purchased this saw in hopes to install 12mm laminate wood flooring. On initial use, it worked great and cut through the laminate floor like butter and the laser was useful, but needed to be cleaned after some use (as mentioned). But after three day's of use, the motor died. I'm sure it would've lasted longer if i didn't use it to cut such a hard substance.
GMC is located in Australia, so they didn't offer to repair it, but instead was instructed by them to go through the replacement program with Amazon. Still happy with the purchase, can't wait to get my replacement...

Beautiful Saw for the Dollar
I am former finish guy, with his own buisness. I knew when i sold all my tools and trailer I would be buying another saw. For the dollar this is very good saw. But be patient, like any saw you should check it out of the box. I had to adjust the square to fence, table. I reset the miter guage, and had to adjust the bevel indicator, all normal procedures one should use. I was surprized how much power and easily to was to operate. The dual bevel was a bonous for the buck. For the beginner or the average woodworker I would suggest this saw. As far as Professional, It would be a good investment as a back up saw. Now its not a Mikita, or Hitachi, which I owned before, but it is a very good saw. One thing I did do is change the blade from the one they send with it, as it was a ripping blade, and I put on one of my own 80tooth blades. I hope this review helps people with there selection.....Rich H. Redding Ca.

Wonderful Miter Saw and Wonderful Service
The saw is very accurate, the weight is such that it easily moved, and the laser is a real help. I considered the Delta Miter at Lowe's which is priced slightly higher but could be felt and touched locally (However, it does not have a laser and is not as precise feeling). I gambled on getting a mail order machine and am very pleased. Also, the Amazon service is wonderful: Unfortunately the saw was damaged during shipping but Amazon paid for shipping a replacement which arrived two days after the damaged unit was shipped (not after they received the damaged unit). Wow! a good saw and fantastic service.

Great saw for the money.
I was a little skeptical when I read the other reviews on this saw. It was hard to believe that so many users found this to be so good when the price would indicate otherwise. You think low price equals junk, but I ordered one anyway. Needing a replacement for my old 10" Riobi that finally quit after 15 years, I hoped this would fill the ticket. This would never take the place of my 10" Hitachi that cost $450.00, but it was for my cottage and would get occasional use. I've been a cabinet maker and woodworker for the last 40 years, so I think I know my tools after all these years and only try to buy the best for the money.
WOW! this saw is really nice and worked great right out of the box with no adjustments. I checked the fence for sqareness to the blade and it was right on the money. I checked the prependicularity of the cut edge.....right on too. Well the blade is really junk, so I just put on the blade I had on my old Riobi and that took care of that issue. The laser line looked pretty nice too, although I'd like to be able to adjust it to the other side of the blade as I'm used to having the cut length to the left vs the right side. There is possibly an adjustment, but I haven't looked that far yet.
All in all this is a really good saw for the money. It's not the Rolls Royce of tools, but it get the job done nicely. I'd recommend this for the home user without any question.
