Solid wood, simple round-profile molding wide'' wide and molding thick'' thick molding with a 0.25'' deep rabbet is covered with a thin layer of gesso and painted black. Available in many sizes, including hard to find ones, this picture frame has been our best seller since day one. - 11 x 17 is an odd size, and I looked all over the place to find an off-the-shelf frame and couldn't. I bought this frame and it arrived quickly and in good shape. - For the price, the frame really doesn't look any better being solid wood than any cheap plastic frame you can buy at any retail venue. And even with the seller-enclosed directions and diagram, the hanger is a pain to install. I wouldn't buy another. More reviews
