Bad Company takes place in the American West, when men did what they pleased and women poured the coffee. It's the story of Kate Tyree, a fatherless girl who runs away from her Kansas City home with a troupe of horse breakers, mostly to get away from her overbearing mother. Her main love in life is horses (which, at one time, was mine), and remains so through five marriages, many mix-ups with the law, and raising three children. Bad Company allowed me to go back to those years when horses were everything, and the world was only an intrusion.
