wise shopper!
I was very interested in the MultiMaster after seeing it on TV. so I Googled it an came to these reviews. The postive reviews out weigh the negative reviews but several issues stand out clearly in both that changed my mind to buy the tool. Those issues were high cost of the tool, high cost of the attachments (most are disposible), very limited distribution centers to buy from, limited service centers and high cost of repair should you need it, and the claim by some positive and negative reviewers that this tool does not do all jobs well, tough cutting, tough sanding of large areas only fine cutting and sanding jobs. I agree with some reviewers that after buying the tool you would be locked in to buying very expensive disposibles (blades, sand paper, etc.) that would eventually suck you dry. For the pro that really would get a lot of use of the flush cutting features, which it seems that this tool stands out for, it may be a pay-for-itself investment. For a guy like me; a homeowner and do-it-yourselfer, it believe I could spend my hard earned money elseware where I would get a bigger-bang-for-the-buck.

Disappointed
I have owned the multimaster for a period just exceeding the warranty and was using it to undercut a door jamb to receive flooring. The tool blade pinched in the cut and broke the "lever" (part #410 in the head). I brought it to authorized repair center and was quoted $185.00 to repair it. The tool was in no way abused and used minimally for the time I owned it. The point I'm trying to make is that repair service for this product is not cheap and the tool should be considered disposable if something should happen to it out of warranty. It works great as a sander but is obviously under engineered for any serious consideration when applying it as a means to cut lumber. Buyer Beware!!!

Multi Master Quality
I am a finish carpenter of 25 years at Lake Tahoe Calif. & after trying several other detail tools this Fein tool beats them all hands down. If you are looking for smooth action, quality, & durability then look no more. If you just want a detail sander for the garage than the Bosch or Porter Cable might be the ticket but if you want to be using it 5 years from now then the Fein is definitely worth the extra money. Once you learn "when" to use it you will reach for it all the time. Great for flush cutting door trim to allow for new flooring, cutting in electrical boxes, sanding, & who knows what else. Replacement attachments are available right here at Amazon. "GREAT TOOL" Jerry Lowe.

Pricey, but works.
I wish someone would make a knock-off of this thing. It works fine, but everything is way too expensive (blades, sandpaper, etc....)
This actually is about the only tool you can use for some jobs. Too bad it costs so much. I'd use it more, probably, if it, and the blades, were a little cheaper.
