What a shame
This product types words that aren't even close to what you're saying. It really was a waste of time and money. I purchased the headset microphone to go along with the software and it was even worse. I'm not a hard person to please, and I never write reviews, but this product is ridiculous, buyers please don't waste your money.

Don't Buy This Product!
It's a shame that you have to buy a product and get it home to know that it doesn't work. Then when you return it you have to pay for shipping and only get 50% back because you opened it. This product is awful.
I went through all the voice recognition training and it still made so many mistakes. Then it started to repeat what I said. Plus to add insult to injury the headphones are uncomfortable. If you have VISTA the speech recognition program works better than this - and that's free. I know there are many here who gave rave reviews. That's why I bought this software. But it sure didn't work for me. Two thumbs WAY DOWN!

Getting Better
DNS9 is a huge improvement over previous versions but it still 'misunderstands' sometimes. I must say, it can be really comical to read what I thought I said. Training was tedious and took a long time. Any non-standard words have to be typed in and defined or they won't come up. To be honest, I usually revert to typing by hand because I'm not patient with the software. I also get hoarse and a headache talking after awhile.

Product: Good. Company: Bad.
Seems to work really well with just a half hour setup. There were some problems with install but all seemed OK with a reboot.
Now, there is an issue with their update system. I get the error 13003 mentioned by others and the update will not execute. So I search their knowledge base for "error 13003" and there is no such thing in their whole knowledge base. So I call using my one free call. The support person says that the problem is clearly detailed in their knowledge base in tech support doc 45xx. OK, I say, how am I to find this tech support document if their search engine is so poor? So, he says he will send me a link to download by email. Even though I am registered, he asks me to read him the email address. 12 hours later and still no link. I can get the service pack via bittorrent, but isn't that kind of silly? I am a paying customer. I should be able to download the darned thing from their site. No one has an auto update mechanism that is flawless. Every other piece of software offers downloads of updaters. The updates are useless without a proper reg code. This keeps most people honest. Methods like this just punish your customers, which is never a good idea. I hope the Nuance sells the application to a more reasonable company.
