- Toro Ultra 12 Amp Electric Blower/Vacuum #51599. Bought for my son and he loves it. It works great and is a lot stronger than others just like the advertisers said. If you want to make the greatest leaf piles in the world for your kids and want to do it in half the time, this is the tool for you.

- Powerful Unit
- I would have rated this Toro Ultra higher had the first one I received not been DOA. Amazon.com sent out another one immediately and it arrived on the second business day. Excellent customer service! Very easy return process!
The blower vac is very powerful and works as advertised. It is the best leaf vac I have used to date. Much stronger than my gas powered units. It probably doesn't mulch @ 16/1 but I haven't got the motivation or time to bag my leaves and then mulch them. If this one turns out to be reliable then it deserves a high rating - 2008-01-08, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Help with leaves
- By the time I had received the device my neighbor had surprisingly raked most of the leaves. For the remainder the vacuum did a good job. There were too few to really blow. The only problem was the difficulty in assembling the two parts. Once done, however, it is easier. I recommend it for small to moderate jobs.

- Good leaf blower. GREAT price.
- Before this leaf blower, I'd only used a much older Toro model, so that's all I have to compare it to. That said...
My only opportunity to use my new blower was when my leaves were very very wet. But even with that obstacle, the Toro 51599 did pretty well. I have a pretty big yard and cleanup this year was a real pain. This unit seems to kick out a pretty decent airflow, and for the price, you absolutely can't go wrong. The older Toro I was using didn't have quite as much kick as this one does.
I tried the vacuum feature, but again, the leaves were very wet so I can't accurate judge that. All I CAN say is, if your leaves are wet don't bother trying to vacuum them up. They will just clump up and it becomes a big mess.
One down side is, and I'm sure it's like this with most hand held blowers, is it really takes a toll on your arm after a little while. It's pretty heavy. I found myself switching arms constantly to ease the strain. Some sort of shoulder strap would be helpful. Next season I think I'll rig something up with a guitar strap so I can take some of the stress off my arm. If you have a little yard and can clean things up in under 30 minutes you should have no problem. But if you are out there for 2 hours plus, a shoulder strap would be helpful.
All in all I'm very happy with this Toro blower. Judging from reviews, for the price, nothing can compete with this. I've recently become a new homeowner and have grown to like Toro products very much. I bought a Toro mower over the summer and I'm very pleased with that too. - 2008-01-07, 3 of 3 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Somewhat Heavy - Best leaf vacuum
- This Toro blower/ vacuum has greatest of vacuum power for what I use it for. The extra weight makes it hard for wife to use except for short periods. That is the only negative about the tool.
