- Best Surge Protector out there!
- This is not just your everyday 5-dollar Wal-Mart surge protector. It comes with coaxial phone AND ethernet protection. I havn't had any surges/blackouts/brown-outs or lightning strikes in my area but this thing is worth its weight in gold. I love the spaced out ports so I can plug in all my transformers for my different computer peripherals. The cable management is awesome also! This the best surge protector out there!

- Does what it says.
- Slim and sleek. Well built. Good length cable. Won't give it 5 stars because i don't know how well it will do against a surge. but i'm sure it will work. 5 unspoken stars. but 4 for sure. good buy.

- More like 8 outlets; otherwise a near no-brainer choice
- Power strips come in all shapes and sizes these days. This Belkin is a rugged yet quite light and thin "slab," perhaps not sufficiently compact to fit easily in a musician's gig bag but ideal for tight spots behind book cases and even for wall mounting (with a handy metal guide for routing cords). Its ample surface area practically ensures that, regardless of the size of your power adapters ("wall warts"), all six of them are likely to fit into their designated spots in the outside two rows.
As for the remaining six receptacles running down the middle row, the space is far too narrow to accommodate additional power adapters. Moreover, if you're using right-angle plugs, figure on a single plug taking up the space of 2-3 receptacles. The Belkin is presently accommodating my six power adapters plus 2 right-angle plugs. Some consumers may be bothered by the "waste" of 3-4 receptacles, but I'm fairly content to have a strip that allows me to use two-thirds of its receptacles without the appearance of overcrowding.
This Belkin, unlike a slightly less expensive model by the same manufacturer, has a small but welcome "ON" light--a single illuminated "bead" at the top of the strip. It shows green when grounded and red when not. I'd be happier with more lights indicating successful connections, or even a larger, more conspicuous light allowing the owner to see at a glance the status of the power strip's connectivity. If you're willing to spend a bit more, a comparable strip by Monster (MP PC800) is not only better illuminated but has color-coded receptacles matched to colored labels the consumer pastes to the plugs of his equipment (not a bad idea if you've ever found yourself confused about which cord goes to which electronic device). Moreover, each of the Monster unit's advertised 8 outlets is more likely to be available, possibly making it no less adaptable than the Belkin's advertised 12-outlet model.
Although I'm happy with eight usable receptacles, especially for bulky power adapters, had the manufacturer extended the length of this one just enough to accommodate two additional power adapters, the center receptacles could have been spaced far enough apart to ensure the availability of all 6. Rather than advertise 12 outlets and assure the customer of 8, why not offer a pricier 14-outlet strip with 14 usable receptacles? Nevertheless, for most households with rooms that have become media centers, this 12-outlet model is a sensible, reliable, well-priced solution. - 2008-08-27, 2 of 3 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Nicely designed 5 star In all ways
- This Belkin Surge Protector Is the Mother of Surge Protectors!!
It can have 6 3prong outlets down the middle, then 3 on each side so you can plug In all the big ended stiff In your component system. for 12 total!! The phone and ethernet cables are a big plus too for one of the nicest I've ever seen even In all kinds hardware stores. Forget the junk In drug stores compared to this. I OWN 2 I bought a second one for my other system to replace what I was using there.
Then there's the deal with buying It and a 2 meter HDMI cable with It and you end up getting the HDMI cable for less than $2 which we will all will need a lot of In the future and some go bad so It's a phenominal deal altogether!!!! Very sweet deal gold tipped cable too. Not cheap silver.
You get 4156 joules and $300,000.00 In Protection!!!! - 2008-08-17, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Seems to work
- Exactly as pictured except the power cord is longer (a good thing). Only wish it had an universal off/on button.
