Gets the job done with a bit of effort: This is a decient product. It is very easy to clean and has a wide veriety of thickness settings. It is also deciently sturdy, though it gives a little under pressure.

Great Device, but watch your fingers: I read all the reviews here and I want to weigh in too.
This is my first Mandoline. I saw a chef on the Food Network slicing potatoes into rounds that were so thin. She made healthful (olive oil, sea salt and cracked black pepper) potato chips by baking them on cookie sheet. My weakness is chips, so I bought it for that reason alone. More reviews

Not only does it cut vegetables, but meat too!: This goes not only for this model, but all similar products. The vegetable holder does not work well for all vegetables, such as carrots and bell peppers. So you may be tempted to go free-hand mode. If so, you do not want to be distracted.
