great
I have always had 5 battery mag alluminum flashlights in different areas around my house for emergency reasons, I decided that they were a bit to big so my research began, after much research I found that the smith and wesson flashlight turned out to be the best value so I purchased 3 of them and am very happy,I will buy another 2 soon, I highly recommended if you want a small very bright flashlight

awesome flash light
the flash light is awesome inside the plane. the red light illuminates enough to see your flight plans and sectionals. the white light is super bright so be careful with it. overall great for night flying.

Solid LED flashlight
This is a solid and sturdy flashlight. I don't have much experience with LED lights but when comparing this to a conventional flashlight the LED can not focus the light as good. The LED spreads a white light over a broader area but you can not focus the LED light to get really bright in a certain area. Other than that it is a great flashlight. The red LED's are great for night time also, probably too bright for any astronomy work but good for general use.
