B&D Air Station

I've used it once and it was fine. The built in, 'you pre-set' air guage is very handy in addition to the storage compartemnt for the power cord and air line which is a tight squeeze. The power cord is aprox.12". Yes, inches. You'll need an extention cord.In spite of these drawback's I believe it is a well made compressor and I will buy another if it fit's the gift list. I have a older model Air Station aprox. 7 -10 year's and it's working great.I keep one in Fl. and one in N.Y..

Great air inflator
Over the years I have purchased a lot of air inflaters from various companies with very disappointed results. Usually the product was very flimsy and fell apart during use or at best fell apart after only a year of use.
The Black & Decker AS1300 Air Inflater is by far the best I have ever purchased and used. I would recommend the purchase of this product to anyone looking to buy an inflater that is sturdy, easy to use and will definitely last for years.

Awesome inflation
This is a great tool because you just set the dial and sit back and wait for the inflation to finish. It is also great that it can be used with ac or dc power. I would recommend it highly.

Highly Recommended
"Gets the job done" pretty much sums things up as one previous review title states. I notice people complain about the noise but it's really not THAT bad (my vacuum cleaner is louder than this). People also complain about the short AC power cord (which it is), but if it were any longer, it wouldn't fit in the already tight compartment that keeps all the cords/cables tidy. Besides, extension cords are cheap and the [long] DC power cord is what matters most in a roadside emergency. The plastic nozzle at the end of the hose is indeed plastic, but it's not the cheap kind and I guess it could break if you're one of those types that doesn't take care of their possessions. Lastly, some mention that inflation times are slow and I could see that if you're starting from a completely flat (and large) tire. But personally, that's a small price to pay for convenience (i.e., better than driving to a gas station with quarters in tow). Overall, I'm VERY satisfied with this purchase.
Pros:
- Convenient (no more trips to the gas station) and does its job.
- Auto-shut-off is a nice feature (I recommend setting the dial slightly past the target and use a good tire gauge with a bleed valve to get to the proper reading).
- A nifty, albeit tight, compartment to keep all your cords/cables in order (wrap your cords properly; don't just "crumple" them up and expect everything to fit nicely).
- Pressure gauge is back-lit which will come in handy on a dark road.
Cons:
- After every auto-shut-off, you have to flip the main power switch to the "off" position before you can refill the next item.
- Plastic construction scares the bejesus out of me when I think of situations where I might accidentally drop this thing.

Add 6 pounds & GO!
OK. We have 1 car, 1 truck, 2 Motor Scooters ( a REAL pain to get to valves stems ordinarily), and 4 bicycles. All you do is set the dial to 5 or 6 pounds MORE than the amount of air you desire or require, flip the switch & it inflates to that pressure for you & then shuts off. SO nice to not wait around & HOPE you guess right!
Only pain to me is the short 110V cord of only a few INCHES. But any longer & it would not be a portable unit right? I have 3 different powered air compressors now & we always pull this one out since it is the most simple to use & for the auto shut off feature.
