- Satisfying
- I bought this tuner about six months ago. I don't use Windows anymore so I can't really use it any longer, but I can tell that this product is the bang for the buck. It works really well with my old IBM T40 laptop, although I can't do anything else with my computer whenever I started opening the TV application since it requires a great deal of work from the computer.
In conclusion, the only issue is the high specs required to make this tuner work on your computer. - 2008-11-25, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- excellent, HDTV looks amazing, better than my 4k sony xbr4
- I purchased this about a month or two ago and I didn't install it right away, big mistake...I was blown away by the quality of the HD picture, amazing picture on my 30" dell monitor. mine came with remote which works amazingly well, I wish I could turn off my computer with it so I didn't have to get out of bed. I love mine and you will too, don't hesitate buy it and you won't regret it. One last thing, at first my HDTV signal was freezing up and sound was breaky...but I figured it was the card's fault, but I was wrong, I had to restore my computer due to a virus and when I re- installed the card and drivers with a fresh windows XP install, my HD signal was flawless, I highly recommend this small wonder.

- Great for Basic Viewing channel viewing
- I don't own a traditional tv, but I wanted to be able watch football games on Sunday on the basic channels- CBS ABC NBC Fox. This performs the job quite well. It took me no longer than 20 minutes to install and scan for channels and be up and running. It also found a few HD channels, which is a nice bonus, but my primary concern was the basic channels for sports- and in that this delivers.
I first purchased the Sabrent TV-USBHD Dual ATSC & Digital HDTV and all it could find was some foreign language channels and local access- needless to say I was unsatisfied and returned it for the Hauppauge, which I am now happy with.
It's also very easy to record TV using the software. The timer for recording makes it easy to record when you're away. - 2008-11-21, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Great for its size, easy set up
- This pulls in with better quality using the USB connection than a PCI card I had from the same company. I sit comfortably at home 13 miles away from the towers and the HD channels in Cleveland come in okay (except for NBC)...the little antennae (or aerial) which came with the stick works better than the powered allegedly HD antennae I got from Target...the usual quirks with digital signals (spotty during storms, etc) are present, but it's more the tranmission from the station than the stick. Works really well with cable connections. Worth the money.

- Win TV Hauppauge Review
- The software was fairly easy to download and install, but the picture is a bit fuzzy on the computer. Also, the audio has alot of static when the volume is turned up. In all, it does the job as long as your not going strictly for quality.
