The Ghost in the Yellow Dress
![]() | Average Customer Rating: Recommend After my husband and I moved to South Dakota, we thought we saw a ghost in our new home. I saw a young lady, very much like the one in my story, in a yellow dress. My husband, though, insisted she was an older woman wearing white. Since neither of us believed in ghosts, we decided that it was merely a reflection of passing car lights. Later, however, a friend claimed to have seen a woman dressed in brown wandering in our hallway. My husband died that year Product details and pricing info |

- Charmed
- A clearly pleasurable read. In The Ghost in the Yellow Dress, Amazon Shorts has once again initiated me to a writer formerly anonymous to me who adeptly managed to bind me in a delightfully resilient spell. The tale is unhurried yet urgent, filled with identifiable, almost familiar, instants. Well rounded characters and natural dialogue combine to convey conflict inside haunting. I look forward in earnest to more of Janet Brown.

- A super supernatural tale
- Janet Brown is at her best in this spooky but emotional story. "The Ghost in the Yellow Dress" starts off at full steam, ensnaring the reader with its opening sentence, and by the end of the first few paragraphs Ms. Brown has us in her spell, shivering along with her main character Emily Durham--and not just because of the cold gloom of a South Dakota afternoon. This story builds in suspense as we get to know Emily--and her many troubles--and doesn't let up for a minute. There are no wasted words here, and no slow moments; this is an outstanding tale of love and fear and the unknown, with an ending that is both satisfying and chilling. If you don't think of this story the next time you walk down a dark hallway, your nerves are better than mine. A thoroughly enjoyable read!
