A must-read for aspiring authors!
When you have the burning desire to publish that book that's hiding inside you, discouragement comes easily. VERY easily. It's easy to give up, and most do. The best way to fight against that hideous monster of discouragement is to know and understand how the publishing business works, what the decision makers want, and how to give it to them. This short article captures those essentials in an easy, inexpensive, and informative read.
After you read this, go buy a copy of Terry Whalin's book "Book Proposals that $ell." Follow his advice, fine-tune your ideas and present them well, and you can rise to the top of the pile!

Straight Talk from the Editor, 18 Keys to a Rejection-Proof Submission
Terry's book has been very helpful with answers I had not found in the several books I've read on getting an agent or publisher. It also gives me some of the reasons for rejection slips which in turn will enable me to remain hopeful my book might not be hopeless! I highly recommend it.
