Galileo Thermometer: I wouldn't take it as fact the temperatures that it gives you though I haven't actually tested how accurate this thing is. However it is a nice conversational piece. Attractive but not accurate: The Galileo Thermometer is a both a beautiful piece of artwork and a functional scientific instrument. The thermometer operates on the principle that the buoyancy of liquid decreases as it warms and expands, allowing the weighted glass spheres to descend one at a time.
