- A basic electronic toy, that holds a young kid's interest.
- My son is into all sorts of electronic games, many of which have way better graphics than this does. But that doesn't seem to matter. He got this as a game last year when he was 4, and still asks to play with it regularly. There are many games to play on it, but he favors the ricochet style game and the frogger style game where you get the dog from the curb to the gate without having it get hit.
The noise level isn't that bad, but sometimes I do put a piece of duct tape over the speaker if we'll be somewhere like at a doctor's office where I don't want him to disturb others.
The graphics are not the best, no color obviously, and very basic. It would drive me nuts, but my son does not mind- and he is the one that is playing it. For the price I don't think you will find better.
Another thing I like about it is it's size. It fits easily into a purse for traveling. - 2008-11-07, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:

- Good choice for my 4 1/2 year old grandson. Kept him busy and quiet for long periods. Durable and fun.

- Nice starter for preschool
- My son did enjoyed this toy for the first couple of days, but he is not a tech child. I found this toy to be ok. I wish it was brighter internally so you can see better as you play the game. He doesn't reach for it at all now.

- Great toy, but it's no xbox!
- I purchased this for my 5 yr old for Christmas. Unfortunatly someone else gave him an xbox, and this preschool video game was left unopened.
So I wrapped it back up and gave it to my 5 yr old nephew. He LOVES it. He was having so much fun playing with it that my 8 yr old niece wanted to play even though she has a nintendo ds.
The games are simple yet fun. I would say that this would be for the 3-5 range, no older than 6 because the games do not keep the attention that long. But the short games are a great thing for younger children who have short attention spans. The game sounds were not too annoying on Christmas day, however it was loud in the house with all the people, so who knows. My younger nephews (1 and 2) gt ahold of the game and dropped it a few times. It didn't break or get a scratch. That is what I LOVE about the kid tough products. - 2008-01-13, 0 of 0 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Great 1st "video" game
- We bought this Game Player for our, then 1 1/2 year old, last Christmas because he had always been interested in electronic toys (or the phone, or remote...) and was always trying to take the Leapster or Gameboy games away from my older children. I knew it was a bit young for him, but it looked tough and durable. We thought that even if he couldn't really play the games, he might enjoy having a game of his own. It also seemed like a toy he could grow into. Well, he's 2 1/2 now, and he LOVES this toy. I love that it's small and "kid-tough!" It's the perfect size for him, with big easy-to-use buttons. I can throw it in my purse so my son can use it in the car, or sitting in the cart at the grocery store, or waiting for a meal in a restaurant. (It has 2 volumes-- but isn't terribly loud, even when it's turned up.) Now he is even able to play most of the games as they were meant to be played (as opposed to just pressing buttons as he did when he was younger). I would highly recommend this toy!
