Its ok, but some glitches
I think i was expecting Bose performance from something with a discount price. My remote doesnt work to do anything but turn it on and off. I cant forward through songs or anything (could be user error maybe?) Also, even with the adaptor for the nano to fit snugly on the base, every time I turn the ipod on or scroll through for songs, it comes loose a little bit and the sound goes off in one or both of the speakers. Then I have to reposition it.
But it looks nice, is portable and has decent battery life. So it does its job, but just some annoying glitches.

Not a clock radio, not useful remote

1. The remote control is not fully functional. It does not navigate thru the menus of your ipod.
2. For the alarm function to work, we need to keep the unit ON and its bright blue display is disturbing kids sleep.
3. It is not a clock radio.
I am returning this item to buy a actual CLOCK radio which can display time.

Everything I expected
I don't normally write reviews, so this is legitimate.
I've used this for several weeks, so far, it was everything I expected. I mostly use it plugged in our kitchen, but several times have used it's built in battery capability by using it in my garage.
Sound is good. Radio, is so-so, but that's not why I bought it. Compared to the Bose, one nice feature is being able to go up and down songs using buttons on the radio rather than using the remote.
Only features I wish it would have are leaving the IPOD screen lit up while in play - but no other sound dock does this either that I could find.
I wish the remote would allow moving up and down playlists like the Bose does - this is so minor.
I have no regrets with this purchase and now knowing all the product capabilities and deficiencies would happily buy it again.
Now about the lack of shuffling within playlists....who in apple should I talk with..

awesome sound
This little box has awesome sound! Not only that but it's portable with battery power, and when plugged in, charges your ipod. What more could you want?

Altec Lansing iM600 iPod Portable Audio system
I love my Altec Lansing iPod docking station/portable audio system.
My husband bought it for me at our local retail electronic store. The
audio was great. I loved it so much, that I ordered another for my upstairs from Amazon because they had the best price. I saved over $50.
My husband was thinking about buying one for his iPod in our TV room, so he ordered one from Amazon also. The teachers at the school where he works all have the same one. We love ours. We now have 3 in our home.
