- This rack definitely can't handle 3 bikes. We have 2 mountain bikes and could not have added a third bike to the rack. Also watch out for potential scratches when mounting the rack. - This overall is a great bike rack but I did notice when I placed more than one bike on the rack the bottom two straps tend to work loose.
