- I bought shake awake's first travel alarm years ago, but it finally gave out. This one is definitely not as good as the first one. It's easy to set, but the vibration is very soft and subtle. - My wife has very bad hearing. With this great Shake Awake it is attached to her pillow when she sleeps and it Vibrats and rings to wake her. I think everyone even with good hearing needs to have one with them when traveling.
