Product Description

Army of the Pharaohs (AOTP) was initially conceived by lead emcee Vinnie Paz of the independent powerhouse group Jedi Mind Tricks. His vision was a constantly-evolving, collaboration of epic proportions that would include MC’s, producers and DJ’s. AOTP’s first incarnation included Bahamadia, Jedi Mind Tricks, Chief Kamachi, 7L & Esoteric and Virtuoso and resulted in the wildly successful 12'' single, 'Five Perfect Exertions'. The response was beyond all expectations and fans worldwide have clamored for more material ever since. 2006 saw the long awaited debut The Torture Papers, which has scanned 20,000+ units to date. The supergroup’s sophomore offering, Ritual of Battle, reunites the winning formula, once again featuring the legendary lineup of underground emcees/artists including Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks, Outerspace, Apathy, 7L & Esoteric, Celph Titled, Chief Kamachi, King Syze, Faez One as well as first time AOTP constituent (and renowned former Jedi Mind Tricks member) Jus Allah & many more. Of particular note (and to rabid core fan delight) is the inclusion of the first collaborative effort of original material between Jedi Mind Tricks' founding members Vinnie Paz & Jus Allah since 2000's Violent By Design. Ritual of Battle is released to heightened anticipation, shortly after Jedi Mind Tricks' return from a coveted slot on the entirety of the wildly popular Rock The Bells summer tour.

Sick as always from AOTP
For me, Blue Steel was song of the year in hip hop in 07, jus allah and ikon the verbal hologram, yeah i still call him that, together for the first time in a while. Sick beats and tight lyrics as always from the army, celph titled and esoteric are nasty, outerspace has gotta be the most slept…   More reviews
Underground all the way!!
Despite Jus Allah's terrible flows and the lack of Apathy I still give this album a 5 compared to the other corporate garbage out there. Every track with Planetary is ridiculous. Few people will appreciate this music however. I live in an isolated area where I can bump this stuff extremely LOUD. This is the only way to listen to AOTP. It's just…   More reviews
Doap Nix...newest AOTP member makes this CD
Ritual of Battle is a doap follow up to the 1st AOTP album. Newcomers Doap Nixon, Demoz, and Jus Allah (former JMT), etc. add to an already good nucleus. I am biased towards Doap Nix, he's my homie from Philly...he's a sick MC and look out for his solo jawn to be droppin' soon...called 'Sour Diesel.' It's all knowledge-knowledge!!! One   More reviews
A Must Buy
I bought this album because I am a fan of JMT, Celph Titled and 7L and Esoteric. What I found on this album is one of the best compilations I've ever heard. The tracks are masterfully produced and the lyrics are tight. Celph Titled pretty much takes over this album with fantastic verses from start to finish.
Only one reason…   More reviews
DOPE RELEASE
i know some people were not happy with this release and i can understand why i mean for one apathy is not even on it and esoteric has like one appearance and jus allah changed his flow but he still raps with impressive intellegence in his flow because after all you can change how you rap but not…   More reviews
