Great, except for the flaw!
We loved the way this tv worked for the first week or two. Now it has a thin line that continues to grow each day. Bad pixels we're told.
Samsung has been great about taking care of the problem, and we'll get a replacement tv soon.
Anyway, looks great and despite the flaw, we would recommend this tv to anyone.

On the Fence ?
IF you are on the fence between buying this TV or another brand jump now to this one !!. I am keeping it simple here. I have had the TV for a week now and the Wow factor is still going on !. Great service from Amazon and the delivery process. Enough said.

Great TV
For openers let me say that I love this TV. The picture is great with vivid detail and rich true colors. Hi def picture is great and standard def picture is very good for this size set.
The following is included for those who may run into this problem with their set.
I received delivery from Eagle. They were on time. The TV was delivered from van rather than a larger truck and showed no signs of wear on the outer carton. The delivery man unpacked it and helped me set in on a low table (temporary until I could get help to attach it to my Omni mount). After plugging it in the delivery man attacked the auto set up like the mad clicker from hell. At some point during his clicking the red stand by light started blinking. When he left I signed for the TV as having no picture in case I couldn't fix the problem myself. After a few days of frustration I called Samsung. None of their techs were able to suggest a solution. They put in a repair ticket. At that point I unplugged the set and left it unplugged for a day.
Amazon customer service was great and offered to replace the set.
When I tried plugging it in again the problem was resolved and I canceled the replacement.
I saw 1 posting with the same problem. The bottom line is that the TV needs more than the suggested 15 minutes to reset.
If you want a great picture this is the set for you. Buy it and enjoy your viewing.

LOVE THIS TELEVISION
I recently purchased a playstation 3, and needed a high-definition TV to use with it. I spent a lot of time and energy researching all of the options. Basically, when actually looking at the televisions in the stores I was happiest with the plasmas and LCD's, and wanted the option of mounting the television at some point on the wall, so I went with flat panel.
Once that decision was made, the LCD's just had a lot more pop when placed next to the plasmas in the store (backlight makes the pixels brighter as opposed to plasmas, where each pixel must produce its own light). Most of the LCD's out there are pretty nice, and with the higher end models from the more popular manufacturers (Sony, Samsung, Sharp, etc..) the performance was pretty similar.
At first I thought the 120 Hz was gimmicky and there was no way I was going to spend extra money on it.. until I saw it in action in Fry's. They had a Blu Ray movie playing with the 120 Hz set to "high" and I was floored by what I saw.. the movie didn't even look like a movie anymore, it was sort of "3D-ish" like you were right there.
After deciding to front the extra money for the 120 Hz, I thought the best options were the Sony Bravia XBR4 and the Samsung 5271. With the Samsung's, I could tell a slight difference in black level accuracy from the LED backlight 5281F but I am not a big freak about really dark black levels. If you are, I would take a good look at the 81F series. Anyway, I thought the Sony's picture was maybe a little better than the 5271 side by side, but certainly not enough to justify the extra $1000, and I found the Sony's floating glass bezel kinda disgusting. After the 5271 dropped to $2900 on Amazon I pulled the trigger right away.
I was reluctant to buy a television online at all, but the price was so much better and the reviews for amazon were really good, so I went for it. Eagle sent me an email and called me to set up a delivery time. They were accomodating and basically were able to come any time (during the week) that I wanted, until 4 PM. This is good to remember because if you work 9-5 you will need to take at least a half day off work to get the delivery. The delivery guys showed up right when I expected them, opened the box and set the TV up right in my apartment, the guy even did the on screen set up for me. The TV was perfect and they gladly took away the packing materials.
In short, I have been absolutely thrilled with the entire experience. Right after I bought the TV, the price dropped again on Amazon and I emailed them about the price guarantee and they IMMEDIATELY refunded $130 to my account.. amazing.
The TV's performance has been outstanding. To be honest, you don't notice the 120 Hz on sports or other television programs, including the HD channels, but it really shines with high def DVD's. I put in "300" on blu ray and was in awe. I also put in my standard-def "saving private ryan" and "Shrek" and could tell a huge difference with them as well.
There is some sort of weird distortion around the people in some of my standard def movies like "Braveheart", i'm not sure why, but i turn the 120 Hz off for that movie and it goes away (it is very easy to turn it on and off, and it has three different settings). I have also noticed that "three ball" artifact that the other guy was talking about with a fast-moving football in flight. This even happens when the 120 is off, so i don't know why it does this but honestly i don't notice it unless i'm looking for it.
The TV is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with PS3 games, and I have been very pleased with the gaming performance.
Overall, I would highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for an HD flat panel, and if you think the 120 Hz is gimmicky, just watch a high-def action movie in the store with it on and you will see how cool it is. I think the XBR4 is probably a little bit better TV overall, but NOT enough to justify the price difference. Also, I do think the black levels are a little more accurate with the Samsung 81F series, but not a huge difference and it is a good bit more expensive. I would also recommend amazon.com for the purchase (maybe not the other vendors selling through amazon though..)
A little tip about size.. I have a very small (900 sq. foot) apartment and bought a 52" TV, and worried that it was way too big. (I wanted a TV big enough to put in a large living room when i get a house) At first it seemed excessively large but after about a week I guess my eyes adjusted to it because it no longer seems large at all, and sometimes (amazingly) I actually wish it was a little bigger. Be careful about going smaller than 50" if you are planning on having this in a living room, you'll be happy with the extra size.

Incredible, but not perfect
Ordered this TV from Amazon Thanksgiving weekend. Got it from Eagle in 1 week. For those of you who are wondering, the process is very smooth and nothing to worry about as this is the first time I ordered anything this expensive and large online. They showed up promptly in the given window. Took it out of the box and placed it on my TV stand. They advised to keep the box as they did not start the TV up, but never the less, the process was painless.
As for the TV it self, the picture is nothing short of incredible. This is the sharpest LCD picture I have seen from any brand and it is as good as the plasma screens out there. The black contrast in fantastic and not like the other LCD flatscreens on the market. The sound from the unit is also very good even without using my home theater system. So why did I say not perfect. Samsung has created a funny little glitch if you are somebody who uses the closed caption when watching TV. The decoder will only work if you have a direct feed (coaxial) into the set and will not work for Component or HDMI inputs. So this means, if you are using a digital/HD cable box (like my Comcast one) which is connected by HDMI or component (as it would be to watch HD channels) then you can not use the closed caption feature. I know this may sound trivial, but if you use it like we do, it is more than a little annoying. Other than that, the set is incredible, and don't think about it any longer - it is a must buy.
