- Incredible TV
- First off, I was a little reserved about ordering such a large and expensive item like this online. I must say that due to my positive experience, I will never buy another TV in a local store again. The ordering, tracking, and delivery by Eagle/Ceva was flawless. My TV arrived in 7 days from the order in perfect condition. I saved over $700 from what it would cost to buy locally.
I waited to give this review until after I was able to watch some 1080 content through it. All I can say is WOW!!! My cable company wasn't able to install my HD cable until a week after the TV arrived. One thing about this TV that suprised me was how great my old standard analog cable looked through the TV. In fact, the analog cable channels look better than the non HD digital channels. HD content is incredible. This TV is one of the best LCDs I've seen. I have not yet experienced the TBE that some users are reporting, so I have to give this TV a complete thumbs up. The 120Hz feature works very well depending on what you are watching.
The only negative thing I can say about this TV is that in some rooms, the glossy screen could be a problem. In my room, I only have to close the curtains for about one hour prior to sunset. But other than that this TV is perfect. PC display is sharp and crisp. DVDs look incredible as well.
If you have been considering this TV, get it, you won't regret it. Ordering through Amazon was great too. I would recommend the LN-T5271F to anyone looking for a state of the art LCD TV. - 2008-01-19, 1 of 2 people found this review helpful, Rated:
- Buyer beware... this TV is prone to developing lines of dead pixels
- I am now extremely disappointed with the whole experience with this LNT5271F model. I ordered my set a couple weeks before Christmas. It was delivered on Dec 18th and worked fine for the first day. On the second day, a short line of dead pixels showed up near the center of the screen and kept growing. On the fifth day, the line had grown so that it ran from top to bottom of the screen.
I called Amazon customer service to report the dead pixels problem and ask for a replacement. A day later a got an email saying that the department does not stock replacement parts for dead pixels. I would have to contact Samsung directly for that. Evidently the person I was dealing with thought that pixels were parts that could be replaced (duh). So I called Amazon customer service again and this time talked a fellow who completely understood my problem. He was apologetic for the confusion and worked to have the replacement unit ordered for me.
The replacement unit arrived on Dec 31st. The deliver person also picked up the defective unit which I had tried to put back in the original packaging the best I could. The second TV worked fine until today, which is about 18 days. Now, there are two short lines of dead pixels on the screen. And if my prediction is correct, these lines will continue to grow and they will run from top to bottom of the screen in a few days.
While I agree with all the reviews about the great picture quality of this model, I can no longer ignore the number of defective units that have been reported. This is a serious quality issue if you look at the number of cases reported so far, especially for an item that costs $$$$ coming from Samsung, a supposedly reputable manufacturer of LCD displays. This will definitely hurt Samsung's reputation and if not careful how it handles this problem, Amazon's customer service may end up hurting its own reputation in the process as well.
Now I've got to call Amazon customer service again and get rid of the defective replacement unit. I just can't believe how this has turned out. First I thought I was unlucky, now I believe there is something wrong systematically! So if you're thinking of buying this model, beware of the dead pixels problem. It will be a gamble. - 2008-01-18, 9 of 10 people found this review helpful, Rated:

- Samsung needs better Quality Control
- After reading so many reviews and so many trips to BB and CC, I decide to order this TV from Amazon just before Xmas. But unlike others i was not fortunate to enjoy the TV. As soon as i turn the TV on, I could see a white line consiting of dead pixels in the middle of the screen. I was surprised how can anyone send such a big TV without basic quality check of screen. Anyone could have turned on the TV and noticed this defect. I am very disappointed with Samsung and decided not to go with Samsung again.
But thanks to Amazon customer service, they returned my money without much hassle and would definitely like to do business again with them. - 2008-01-18, 8 of 9 people found this review helpful, Rated:
