Gecko Grip
I bought the level for my husband. I saw the add on TV and laughed when I thought it looked like the last time we moved the picutres around in the house. The Gecko Grip is the perfect tool, no more extra holes to patch meens one less job on my husbands honeydo list and MORE TIME FOR US. :)

Decent Level but they can keep the "Gecko" hype.
Three feet is a pretty handy length for a level. I tested it against a much more expensive level I have and it is dead accurate. For $20 shipped (Amazon Prime Member) this is a pretty good deal for a novelty level. It is excellent for hanging pictures.
Sadly the "Gecko Grip" was weak and poorly designed. It would have been handy if it would actually stick to all smooth surfaces as advertised but I quickly found it lacking in one handed "stay put-edness" whilst I mark with my other hand mojo.... Nice gimmick if it had worked. It creeps slower than without but still travels none-the-less.
Still pleased overall with the quality and utility of the tool. Good purchase.

Hanging pictures just got easier.
Hanging pictures is now much easier with this level. No more measure, remeasure, attempt to level, drill, and then curse when the screws don't match the back of the picture. The ability to mark the holes and level them at the exact same time is terrific. If you hang large things on your wall with two brackets, this is for you.

Black & Decker Gecko Grip Level
I was very disappointed when the level finally arrived. It was a Christmas gift for my husband (which arrived after New Years). Whenhe opened it he was excited until he went to use it. The advertisement was very misleading. We understand that there were suctions on each end to hold the level for you, so your hands would be free. This was not the case. With the price of the level and the price of shipping I paid over $50 for a plain old level. VERY DISAPPOINTING !! Most definitely won't buy something on internet again sight unseen.

B&D Gecko AccuMark Level Imperfections
I searched for and purchased this item for my domestic partner because it was very favorably reviewed by the Detroit Free Press. Basically, my partner and I are happy with the Gecko Level because it does, indeed, make easy work of all that it claims.
However, one HUGE shortcoming of the level, which was immediately brought to my attention by my partner, the recipient of the gift, is that on both ends of the level, the edges of the aluminum body are so sharp they could -- and probably would -- easily draw blood during casual usage. Upon examination, I found the problem to be so consistently hazardous, that I had to sit down with a file and smooth/round all of the edges of the aluminum pieces -- without exception.
Though very pleased with all of the positive performance aspects of the Gecko Grip Level, just as promised, this HUGE and hazardous shortcoming almost prompted me to return the item. Instead, I am hoping this review that I am giving will be noticed by or brought to the attention of Black & Decker, so they can immediately not only address the problem on future Gecko Grip products but perhaps even offer some remedial actions to those who are current owners.
